I immediately jumped back into my search once I was in the chair getting my hair braided. Typing DeMarcus D. Davis and Louisiana back into the search as I did previously and scrolling til I saw the image that caught my eye the last time. I immediately clicked on it and there staring at me was a much younger Logic and a news article, Baton Rouge Man Sentenced to 12 Years for Attempted Second Degree Murder and Kidnapping of Former Wife. My eyes could not believe what they were seeing. I had come to the conclusion Logic or should I say DeMarcus was a fucking lunatic and a monster after reading the article in its entirety. There are no words to describe the shit he’d done to his wife it made the shit he done to me seem like a cakewalk.

“What’s been up girl?” Dominique asked interrupting my thoughts.

“Shit, trying to get myself together before this baby comes.”

“I got you some stuff. I’ll put it in your car before you leave boo.”

“Awww thanks girl.”

I went back to what I was doing trying to see if there was anything else I could find out about Mr. Lying Ass Logic. There were a few more articles about the same case one of which mentioned his arrest history that consisted of mostly domestic violence charges. He must’ve had a top-notch lawyer to even be able to walk the streets freely again. The wheels in my head were spinning and something was telling me I needed to get away from him and fast. There’s no way I can confront him about any of this shit and risk not only putting myself in danger but my baby as well. Once again, I deleted my search history to cover my tracks.

After about six hours Dominique was finished with my small box braids and I was tired as hell. I decided I would just get up in the morning and go to the nail salon before going to my wax appointment. I paid her and tipped her before she walked me out with the gifts she had for the baby and loaded them in the back of the car.

“Thanks again girl. Let me get out of here and get home. I’ll hit you up boo.”

“Alright boo. Let me know if you need anything else.” I nodded and waved before pulling off.

I wasn’t hungry at the moment since I had ordered food while I was getting my hair done. Logic had text me earlier, but I haven’t heard from him since and I really didn’t feel like being bothered so I wasn’t gonna call him. My phone ringing caught me off guard but the name that appeared on my display completely knocked the wind out of me. I quickly pressed the button to answer the call.

“Hello.” I hesitantly spoke thinking maybe it was a pocket dial.

“KeKe it’s me. I’m assuming since you answered you can talk. There’s something I need to talk to you about but not over the phone.
